James & Ali
Goodness, James and Ali, what a huge blessing you are.
Right before I met James the tiny college ministry I had gone to for the first three-ish years at UNC had become mostly nonexistent because our campus minister had to relocate. I decided to try out a new ministry called Christian Challenge and James was one of the first people I encountered there. He was kind and friendly, funny and very welcoming, but that wasn’t what impressed me about him the most. He, along with his twin brother Danny sat and talked with me for a bit after the meeting and it was as though I had known them for years. They were chasing after the same Jesus as me. They were, like me, admittedly broken people trying to know more fully the goodness of the Lord in real ways. Needless to say, Christian Challenge became my home at UNC, and the people I got to know there became my family, and James was nothing less than a brother.
He is a man of great character always letting his hope dwell in the Lord. He is eager to see and be a part of the work that God is doing. He is a talented part of the body of Christ using his skills and gifts to worship the Lord and bless others.
I haven’t known Ali for as long, but she’s one of those people you fall in love with within about five minutes of meeting. She is joyful. So joyful, it overflows. She is kind and hilarious, a light shining bright in the darkness.
I love these two, the way they seek God’s heart, the way they respectfully love and honor one another, the way they make amazing music together that leads me onto knowing God more, and the ways they challenge me to seek after the Lord more diligently. Thanks guys, for letting me spend an afternoon with you, it was a gift. I’m so thrilled to continue to walk this life with you, as broken people walking with Jesus, getting to know more fully the goodness of the Lord.
