My husband, Sage, is in his third year of veterinary school, this means that in October he’ll be transitioning into the clinical rotation portion of his education, and when you say “hello” to the white coat you say “bye-bye” to summer vacation. Yup, all year round from here until the end! That means that the past few months we had our last big chunk of time off, for who knows how long.
Last fall we decided it might be nice to spend some of our last summer in Scotland, visiting Sage’s brother and our sister-in-law, and their three little ones. We (the whole crew of us) ended up making quite the trip out of it, spending the bulk of the summer in Paris while the guys took a French class, then a small excursion to Spain for Sage and I, then we topped it all off with 12 days in Saint Andrews, Scotland, where Forrest (my brother-in-law) is studying to get his PhD in theology.
It was an outrageous gift to spend a month and a half with their sweet family, under the same roof! We were blessed beyond words by the play time with Esther, Bella and River, the adventures, the laughter, the words of affirmation and encouragement, and once the wee ones had gone to bed, the evenings spent with Forrest and Janelle filled with sweet discussion.
Near the end of our time in Scotland I got to do a little family shoot with this lovely, little group of five and it was a gift to document their love and kindness.
So much love, overflowing, for you, Forrest, Janelle, Esther, Bella and River. We love you and praise God with full and thankful hearts for the time He so generously gifted us with this summer.
